Current Literary Obsession:
Garlic and Sapphires: the Secret Life of a Critic in Disguise
By: Ruth Reichl

This is such an incredibly funny book about a food critic who dresses in different disguises to avoid preferential treatment because she is a food critic. She felt bad writing excellent reviews of places only to have her readers show up and be treated horribly because they aren’t famous. It is so interesting to read about how differently she is treated depending on what character she chooses.

Bonus: there are recipes that go along with the story she is telling!

Happy reading!!
Erin

Ps. Stayed tuned tomorrow for another exciting giveaway!!

It’s Wednesday, folks! It’s almost the weekend! I’ve been doing some serious wedding planning lately and it’s made me absolutely giddy!

I’m definitely loving this engagement time. So many people have told us to soak up this time together….it’s such a special time.  And heck, you’re only engaged once! We have the rest of our lives to be married! We’ve definitely taken those words to heart. We can’t wait to be married but we are loving every bit of right now. The planning part isn’t exactly up Tad’s alley but we’re having fun with it. We are a little less than 10 months out and lots of details are coming together! The stress and crunch-time has yet to hit so I may be singing a different tune in a few months. For now, I am having one heck of a time being Tad’s fiancé and planning a fabulous wedding!

Here are some fantastic ideas I stumbled upon this week:

Wedding Wed. 8.21.13

Cake // Bridesmaid Dresses // Pup + Bow Tie // Wedding Dress // Florals

Also, THIS picture. Oh my word. Can this family get anymore precious? Sheesh! Of course they have two good-looking dogs. OF course.

Happy Wednesday, friends! Hope you’re having a fabulous day,

Natalie

1. Tangerine Throw from Serena and Lily.

2. I have no clue what type of party I would throw in order to create this donut DIY piñata , but I need to think of one–and fast.

3. How adorable is this Clare Vivier tote?

4. Loving the new Parisian themed goodies over at Pei-Design!!

5. JCrew Crystal Necklace.

6. Has anyone else taken a peak at the new Kate Spade Darcel line? When I saw the looks at NY Fashion Week I got super excited by the colors and whimsical images, but I am not really sold on the pieces they put in the collection for everyday pieces. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Happy Tuesday!
Erin

I may be a bit early with this post BUT the 70 degree weather in KC this weekend made me suuuuper excited for the Fall! Naturally, I scouted the web for all of the fabulous pieces I wish I had for the approaching season. A chunky cable knit sweater, a cup of coffee, and a good book is really all that’s needed. However, Tory Burch flats and a pretty gold necklace make it all the better.

As I was doing my daily peruse of Pinterest, I stumbled upon this gem of an artist. Guy Yanai uses great, bold colors and you know how much we dig a great bold color!
