Lemons into Lemonade

Life

I’m sure you will all mostly agree, but this week has just been a real lemon of a week. I’m sure many of you (most of you) have missed Nennie. She has been all about the states and is now amid lectures back in Kansas City. Well, I have missed my partner in crime. I love her and I know I don’t say it enough.

So this weekend, in honor of turning lemons into lemonade, I am scrubbing the house–literally because we are getting our air ducts cleaned–didn’t even know that was a thing. We will be doing anything and everything that Nina Cosford suggests in this brilliant print.

Have a happy weekend, friends!
Erin

Life, sisters

It’s real cold here. The Columbus weather has been so wacky. One day it’s -15 and everything in the garage is exploding because we forgot to bring in the soda and the next day it’s 50 degrees so everything turns to slush. I have never been so grateful for my wellies. The red ones are on their way!

Attention all snail mail lovers! Ashley over at One Fine Day started a fabulous pen pal exchange program! I have had a total blast participating! Read more about it here!

Nat came to visit last weekend and we crossed some serious sister items off the list! We shopped, donned our pink lipstick, and crafted some DIY projects for the wedding.

Oh my gosh. Matt made THE BEST beer cheese soup. We are making it again really soon and will post the recipe! Amazing.

Also did a little bit of redecorating around the house! Found the perfect place for my owls that Natalie gave me for my birthday! They are salt and pepper shakers, but I think they look pretty great on the mantel! However, I couldn’t bring myself to take down the holiday cards! I love seeing all of our friends and family everyday!

What have you all been up to?? Please share!!

Happy Wednesday!
Erin

family, Life

I’m currently sitting in the Kansas City airport waiting for a flight to another residency interview. Of course my flight is delayed, meaning I’ll miss my connecting flight.

Needless to say, I’ve got the mean reds today.

My family and I had a fabulous week in Muncie, IN visiting my grandma and in Columbus, OH visiting Erin and Matt. I already miss them all terribly. I could have stayed forever! When the real world hits you in the face Monday morning after an amazing weekend, it seriously hurts. So over it.

Anywho… enough of my grumpiness already. Here’s a little glimpse into my life lately!

‘To-Do’ Tuesday

Life, lists

typewriter

Is it just me or do ‘to-do’ lists sometimes give you the mean reds? I usually love my lists but it seems lately they’re never-ending! For every item I mark off the list, 5 more get added. It’s growing exponentially! Le sigh…

I’ve got lots of stuff to do and not enough time to do it. Which really is crazy since my month couldn’t be any lighter… I’m done at noon most days! I think it has to do with the fact that since it’s such a non-busy work month, I’m trying to fit everything in. Wilson’s overdue vaccinations? That dentist appointment I’ve been putting off? Getting long-overdue wedding items done? VACUUMING?? Oy vey! Too. Much.

cup of joe

I think I’ll grab a cup of joe, watch Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and stare at the to-do list until tomorrow rolls around… .

family, husband, Life, Purdue

Good morning friends! Thought I’d share a few photos from my life lately!

Last weekend Matt and I made a little trip to Purdue where we saw lots of friends and family! Feels so good to be able to see these people more often!

Also, Matt has taken on a lot of projects lately including these two:

(I promise I am doing things too!)

I am very fortunate he enjoys a good pop of color as much as I do. He also busted into my Martha magazine and made this fantastic skillet chocolate chip cookie!

I am trying to be better about spending money these days. I have always been a savvy shopper, but lately most of the budget has gone towards the move! However, I couldn’t pass up this rhinestone collar shirt from Kohl’s. It looks exactly like the Tilda top from JCrew.

A great deal I couldn’t pass up for $24.99! Plus, I used a $10 coupon I got from Discover…so try to locate a coupon before heading over there because they do accept coupons on sale items!

Happy Wednesday!!
Erin
