Ok…so it again warrants the statement that I am NOT the cook in this sister duo. However, I am all for easy recipes that take t minus 2 minutes. I did this in between makeup and hair over the holidays 🙂

All you need to do is heat the oven to 350 degrees, slice 1 baguette and lay the slices on an ungreased baking sheet in a single layer. Sprinkle both sides of the bread with olive oil, then top one side with your favorite Italian ingredients!

I chose to top mine with some premade Trader Joe’s pesto (the best store on the planet) and sun dried tomatoes. I baked the slices for 10 minutes or until the bread crisped up.

I then added fresh mozzarella and baked for another 5 or so minutes until the cheese was melted. For an added bonus, once it comes out of the oven top it with some balsamic vinaigrette and enjoy!

Seriously easy and perfect for an on the fly appetizer!

Cheers to the weekend!

Red Pants 1 Red Pants 2 Red Pants 3

When I saw these pants at Gap I knew they had to be mine. Especially when I noticed they were on clearance! I am one that LOVES to double work clothes and everyday clothes. These pants are just fantastic for work, for a Saturday at the store, or even hitting the town!

For this outfit, I paired it with a top from Banana Republic and The Classic Marc Necklace by Marc Jacobs plus the matching earrings.

Happy Wednesday friends!

Vidalia Onion Cheese Dip

15 Tuesday Jan 2013

Onion dip 1

Since it’s the beginning of the new year and everyone and their dog is on a diet, I thought I’d bring you a healthy recipe for this lovely Tuesday morning.

Ha.

Onion dip 2

This cheese dip is the exact opposite of healthy. BUT it’s so delicious. It’s definitely a dip that is saved for family get-togethers… not a random Tuesday night when you’re bored and end up eating the whole thing. Holy cheese that would be intense.

But totally possible.

I got this recipe from Tad’s parents (my future in-laws! eek!) over Christmas.  It is the perfect appetizer and every bit as scrumptious as it sounds. Dig in!

Onion dip 3

Vidalia Onion Cheese Dip

Ingredients

3 large Vidalia onions (or any sweet onion), coarsely chopped
3 tablespoons unsalted butter.
1 cup mayonnaise
8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 teaspoon tabasco sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
Tortilla chips or crackers for serving

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sauté onions in butter for 6-8 minutes over medium high heat. Lightly sprinkle with salt when first added to skillet. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about one minute. Blend with mayonnaise, cheese, and Tabasco sauce. Pour into a buttered casserole dish and bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips or crackers. Enjoy!

Hi, friends!

So sorry the blog has been kinda quiet lately… I’m going to blame the post-holiday crash for my sluggishness until the end of March. Even if that excuse went out the window last week.

The cold January weather made its appearance in Kansas City again this morning. Yesterday it was in the 50s, this morning it’s in the 20s. I do NOT approve.

To avoid the unbearable cold outside, I’m going to sit right here on the couch, drink my coffee, catch up on my weekly shows, and lust after some things I found on the web this week.

Sat. morning wish list
