Today, 28 years ago, a very special girl was brought into my life and I am so proud to call her my sister.  She is the smartest, funniest, and most sincere person I know.  She wears many hats these days, but she will always be my Nennie girl!!

AND…we get to see each other in 12 hours!  My mom, dad, brother, brother-in-law, and of course the birthday girl are meeting Matt and me in Nashville for the weekend!!  It has been since Thanksgiving since we have all seen each other, so to say we are excited would be a gross understatement.  Prepare for an Instagram overload!

Have a great weekend, friends!
Erin

Hello, dear friends!

Goodness, it’s been entirely too long. AmIright? My fabulous sister has taken over the blog during this crazy time of our lives and for that, I am so stinkin’ grateful. Can we all take a second and ogle her Instagram feed? The colors! The clothes! The cuteness! So dang proud of that sister of mine. When I’m in need of a pick-me-up, I head over to  her IG and stare at the pictures. True story.

Gosh, where do I begin. I’d like to say a lot has happened since the last time I blogged buuuut… *crickets*. I’ve worked and then worked some more. Not a whole lot in between. Residency is kicking my bum but I don’t hate it! I actually really really love it.

I DID find a snazzy kitchen accessory at an antique mall this weekend! Not sure what to call it… is it a kitchen hutch? Repurposed wheelbarrow? Totally NOT old piece of furniture turned into an old-ish looking piece? Probably all of the above. Regardless, I can’t stop staring at it. I think I’m in love.

Tad and I are headed to The Windy City tomorrow for a weekend anniversary trip! Chicago, here we come! We’ve got quite a to-do list already planned. It starts with brunch at Longman & Eagle on Thursday morning (our flight gets in at 7:30am!) and ends with a Chicago Bulls-New York Knicks basketball game Saturday night. I can’t wait to tell you about all of the goodies we have planned in between! This Ultimate Chicago List from The Neo-Trad helped plan this windy city get-away… so thankful for helpful bloggers with fabulous taste!

We are in desperate need of this vacation and are beyond excited. Think anyone will judge if we order mimosas on our 5:50am flight? #passthechampagne!

Hi folks! Natalie here, the long lost sister from this blogging duo! It’s been terribly long, but I thought I’d make a grand entrance back into the blogging world with a fab-u-lous giveaway!

We hit our 2 year anniversary of the blog this week… can you believe it?? Gosh, time flies. It seems like just yesterday Erin and I were skyping about our blogging plans. What to name it? What to post? HOW to post? It was great fun and we still have a fabulous time talking about all things blog. Like I talked about in this post, blog life has slowed down for me lately. My free time is few and far between and when I do get it, my hubby, friends, and pups take up my time in Memphis. I’ve missed the blog world but I so enjoy popping in every now and then! This two year anniversary is giving me just the pep I need to search and discover all things pretty and happy!

Because we think you all are so dang fabulous, we’re giving away a package of fantastic goodies! Oh Joy coasters and straws, anyone? (psst- her Target Fall collection is amazing!) Click the link below to enter! Giveaway ends next Friday at midnight!

The Blog and I…

Hello, dear readers!

Oh goodness… where do I even begin? To say it’s been a busy few months would be a total understatement. In the past few months, I’ve:

Married my best friend.

Changed my last name.

Moved from Kansas City to Memphis.

Honeymooned in Jamaica.

Bought a house.

Graduated from medical school.

Started a new job.

Put off writing a bajillion thank you notes. (So sorry, everyone!)

Last but certainly not least- Adopted a 7 month old puppy, Graham.

nat and tad twirling

Helllooooooo, life changes! Ummmm, you came on kinda quickly!

I’m loving married life, I’m loving being a doctor, I’m loving our two dogs (even though they don’t get along), and I’m loving our new house.

With life changes like this come some sadness as well. I’m missing my family and I’m missing my friends. I’m missing Kansas City. I’m missing the normalcy that was my life BEFORE May hit. I’m missing my free time, and I’m missing the blog.

I would give anything to go back and re-live every.single.second of the wedding weekend. And I mean anything. It was perfect, and beautiful, and amazing. The love we shared that weekend with our family and friends will never be forgotten. I get teary-eyed every time I think of what was the most perfect weekend of my entire life.

At the same time, I’ve never enjoyed anything as much as I’m enjoying getting up every.single.day. at 4:00am to go to the hospital and see patients. Nothing beats looking up at the huge hospital at 5:00am as you’re walking in, waiting to see how your patients did overnight and the anticipation of what’s to come the rest of the day.

As sappy as this may all sound, you can probably guess I’ve been a roller coaster of emotions the past few months.

I’ve thought a lot about this blog lately and the future I have in it. My sister is so dang amazing, and I am so grateful for everything she does. She works so incredibly hard and still manages to entice others with her words and pretty pictures on this blog. I envy her creativity and her passion for all things beautiful.

I feel as though I’ve been rambling for the past 5 minutes so I’ll get to the nitty gritty:

This blog and I might be at a standstill. I’m tearing up as I write this because it’s what I share with my sister, my friends, and my family. I love this niche we’ve created in the great internet abyss. I love sharing what we love… all things pretty and happy. Right now, my life is pretty dang crazy and I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep tuning in to this blog as much as I’d like.

Long story short- I’ll be coming and going. I change rotations every month so my 14-hour days and 4 days off this month could change to 8-hour days and weekends off next month. Every month will be something different for the next four years. I guess this whole ‘life changing’ thing won’t be stopping anytime soon.

Erin will be picking up where I’ve left off like she’s been doing for a while now. She’s super woman! I so envy everything about her and am so dang lucky to call her my sister.

I’ll miss the days I won’t be here sharing my thoughts or pictures, but it’s not the end of Natalie and this ole’ blog here. I’ll be back… may not be tomorrow, or the next day, or the next week… but I’ll be back.

Erin and nat at the wedding

Love and laughter, always,

Nat

Phew! What a weekend!! Natalie and Tad had the most beautiful wedding. The entire weekend went flawlessly and now Tad has whisked Natalie away for a week in MONTEGO BAY! How he was able to keep that a secret for 1.5 years is beyond me!!

Today, I thought I would share a few photos…they are mostly from what I was able to capture on my phone!

The week leading up to the big day was full of errands and pampering. I was put on the handwriting tasks as soon as a I arrived. Hello doctor handwriting. Even the errands were fun. We obviously found time to sneak in some margs and queso.

The bridal luncheon was at The Raphael Hotel. Pomegranate mimosas, macaroons, good company.

After we successfully rehearsed, we were off to Fogo De Chao and got our feast on. Delicious. Natalie and the bridesmaids then returned to our hotel room for a good ol’ fashioned sleepover!

The next morning, we got up and headed to Belle Époque to get our hair and makeup done.

After the nuptials we headed onto a trolley to take pictures around the Plaza.
