match day, residency, tad

Hi folks! Sorry for the silence on Friday! I had BIG news to share and didn’t have the time to share it! My bad.

I found out Friday where I matched for my residency position… MEMPHIS, TN! I’ll be a new resident physician at the University of Tennessee Med-Peds program come July! I’ll be studying both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics for four years in the land of BBQ and Blues.

Tad and I could not be more excited. We loved Memphis from the moment I stepped foot in the city for interview day. I got to tour the Elvis Presley Trauma Center on my interview day… does it get any better than that?

It’s crazy that match day has already come and gone. Medical school has been a dream of mine since the age of 13 and it’s finally coming to an end! Somebody wants me to be a doctor at their hospital and in a few months I’ll actually have ‘Dr.’ in front of my name. So surreal!

It seems like just yesterday I was opening my medical school acceptance letter with Tad. The wait for that letter was crazy brutal, as was the wait for match day. FINALLY they have both come and gone! The wait is over… Memphis here we come!!
