Ok. Has anyone else read this book? I was super excited to read The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling after nearly a decade of Harry Potter awe.
The premise of this book is a man, Barry Fairbrother, dies, leaving his seat on the local parish council vacant. The other members of the town then begin vying for the position, but it doesn’t take long before their close kept secrets come out. Sounds intriguing right? Well, the plot is interesting, but it just kinda drags on. Good idea…bad execution.
I normally love everything I read, but this book just didn’t do it for me….did anyone else feel this way?
Also looking for new book suggestions! Have you all read anything good lately? Right now I’ve got the new Jeannette Walls book on the horizon!
Hope you all have a swell weekend!
Erin
I try to read everything in sight…but have not read this new book. Thanks for saving me from the agony!! The only book that I can think of that would be a wonderful read…if you have not read it, is “To Kill a Mockingbird”. Wonderful!!
