I know I know… it’s TOO EARLY. Too early for Christmas!
Except that it’s not. It’s snowing in Columbus, there’s Christmas candy in Walgreens, and I saw my first Santa hat in St. Louis yesterday. It’s officially the season, y’all.
We’ll give a nod to Thanksgiving but our hearts are for Christmas. Always and forever.
The best thing about the holidays are the parties (that includes Thanksgiving!) so it’s definitely not too early to start the shopping… shopping for party dresses, that is.
As I was working on this post, my email inbox dinged with an invite to a Gatsby-themed birthday party… talk about day.made. Now I just need to find me a flapper dress!

Hey folks! Sorry for the late posting today… better late than never amIright?
I have the next few days off so I’ve been lounging and not getting much done… it’s been fabulous.
I’m currently planning my recipe and grocery list for this week. I’m going to try my darndest to get some amazing gluten-free recipes made this week. My home needs a good dose of homemade cooking!

Good morning, friends! Hope you all had a snazzy weekend! Matt and I went to a beautiful wedding in Chicago and then stopped by Purdue to take Matt’s brother, Paul, out to lunch for his birthday! So I stepped outside yesterday morning and my entire deck and backyard was a blanket of leaves… you couldn’t see a single part of the deck and not a single blade of grass. I mean COVERED, people! I’ve never seen so many leaves before. We are definitely in the peak of fall!! I just hope the trees hold on to a few more leaves so it doesn’t get quite so barren so soon… winter’s lack of color can really be depressing.
I got out my snazzy new Hunter boots yesterday and tackled the leaf blanket. I swept the entire deck (including the furniture!) and will likely wake up tomorrow morning with a blanket of leaves again. Not sure why I went to the trouble… I will just have to do it again in a few days! Although, it sure was nice to be outside in the crisp evening air soaking up the smell of fallen leaves.
