Well it’s officially time to start thinking about transitioning Claire to toddler sleep!! One of the main reasons we were successful in sleep transitioning with E to a toddler bed as early as we did was the Dockatot.  Until recently she didn’t even know she could get out of her bed.  And even now she will hop out really fast and scurry back in.  It’s actually kind of funny—and I really think it’s the coziness of her Dockatot.

Now that Claire is sleeping well at naptime AND bedtime, it’s time to start thinking about the next step.

It’s a great idea to use the Dockatot for everyday play, lounging, and napping and if you’re traveling, even better for sleep!  It feels and smells like their regular sleep routine!

We’ve started by just letting her relax and get aquatinted with it, maybe sleeping in it for naps.  Then we will put it in her big girl bed in 5-6 months to help her sleep all night in a new bed like we did with E when she’s ready to transition!

Also, does this mean what I think it means!?  Time to start planning Claire’s Big girl room!!!

What are your tips for transistioning from swaddling/infant sleep to baby to toddler sleep?

*This post was sponsored by Dockatot, but all opinions, as always, are my own!

Claire is Seven Months!

IMG_4454IMG_4458IMG_4459IMG_4461IMG_4462IMG_4476IMG_4477IMG_4482
Well, Seven months is here!! It has been a whirlwind since Six Months with the holidays and Claire’s Baptism!  In the sleep department, we have seen some improvement, but sleeping through the night is still not a guarantee.  She either takes two short naps or one long midday nap.  If she sneaks in a little early evening nap because the timing is off from the other nap/s things might get a little hairy.  She is taking between 30-40 ounces a day PLUS solids.  She’s our eater for sure.  She’s almost 18 pounds, putting her in the 75th percentile.

She also LOVES to take a bath with big sister.  She is almost crawling so can scoot around pretty well in the bath.  I have feeling she is going to be like E and skip right to walking.  She really wants to crawl, but I think by the time she figures it out, she will also have figured out how to walk.  She pulls herself up almost to standing so for E walking was a pretty quick next step.  We shall see!

She is still on her acid reflux meds, but we do not plan on refilling it to see if she has outgrown it.  Claire is pretty hot and cold.  She will be happy as a lark, playing peacefully on her own for two hours and then bam, she loses it for the next hour.  So, we’ve blamed a couple of things, but I just think she knows what she wants, so it should be solved as soon as she can talk 🙂

Overall, I really can’t think of a sweeter babe.  When she’s fussy it is usually for a reason and she returns to her happy self.

Can’t believe we’re already over the hump to ONE YEAR!
We love you little C!

Here is E at Seven Months!

There is literally nothing my family loves more than a great day at the zoo.  With my sister in town this week, it was one of the first things we decided to jet out and do.  Saturday was the most perfect fall day- 70 degrees, sun shining, and the leaves were every shade of yellow and red.

With the cool, fall days arriving, layers are a must. These cuddl dud pieces have been a life saver for me with the change in weather! Low key, great layers, and perfect for day-to-night transitions. I wore this long-sleeved light shirt with the gray sweater to the zoo (perfect layers!) and cozied up in the flannel pants as soon as we got home.  The shirt is especially great for layering because you can easily slide a sweater over it without it feeling baggy or getting caught under the sweater.  Then, when you shed the sweater, it still feels like a standalone piece. What’s the best way to end a great day at the zoo? Popcorn, Halloween pjs, Hocus Pocus, and snuggles. Add Aunt Nennie into the picture and it’s the perfect fall day.

Hope all of you are out enjoying this fall weather!

It was so nice for the first few weeks of April! Sunshine was just what we needed.

And then the Easter bunny came crashing down on E’s whole world.  For real, I love that the mall we had this taken at took the time to edit and frame this keeper.

If you caught my Insta Story, egg dyeing went a lot different in my head than it did in actuality.  She thought they were golf balls so she chucked them as soon as she could get her hands on them.  Then she just dipped her fingers in all the dye.

I posted a roundup of my favorite spring styles for the toddler girl and boy!  So much cuteness out there!!

I seriously couldn’t wait for E to get her Easter basket–so much fun!!

The egg hunt was also a total success!  This dress was so perfect for Easter!

Good morning!! As a follow up to yesterday’s post, as promised, here are some of my favorites for the boys!  Back when I thought Eleanor was going to be a boy, which now seems so so odd, I stocked up on boy clothing and many of those items remained in her wardrobe which I kind of love.   I really love boy clothing and there are some amazing pieces out for spring/summer this year!

1. How stinking cute are these sunglasses!?  AND they are only $5.

2. I just about keeled over when I saw this hat.  And again, a steal at $8.

3. For those chilly mornings and evenings, this light sweatshirt and jacket are perfect.

4. Leggings like these or these are great for transition or evenings and then SHORTS!  I like that these can be dressed down with a tee or tank or up with a linen shirt!

5. Like I mentioned in the girl post, rainboots are toddler gold–E can almost get hers on by herself!  I love these!

6. These striped shoes I actually bought before I had E and she wore them because I just love them.  So, so much.

7. I thought my love for Natives went deep and then I saw that this pair GLOWS IN THE DARK!!  They actually have several colors that do!!  How perfect for the spring and summer evenings!?!

8. And don’t forget about my post on Swimwear for the Littles!

Happy shopping and a very happy Thursday!
Erin
