My (again not so current because I am swimming in the deep end of leadership books for my Master’s classes) current literary obsession:
The Glass Castle
By: Jeannette Walls

This book is one of those books that sets off a reading frenzy. Does anyone else experience this phenomenon? This book is so good it will make you go read ten more books, with the hope of finding one just as good. This Weekend {in Kansas City}…

This past weekend in Kansas City, Tad and I headed south to visit the ultimate Fall experience in KC: The Louisburg Cider Mill. The Cider Mill is an awesome place to visit with family in the Fall… it includes a pumpkin patch, corn maze, and a tour of their cider making facilities. You can even watch them make their delicious apple cider doughnuts! I’m such a sucker for anything Fall, and this past weekend definitely lived up to it. Halloween Party Favorites

1. Black Stripey Straws. Party must have.

2. Pottery Barn Spooky Plates. These are so Edgar Allen Poe-esque

3. Halloween Candy. What’s Halloween without candy??

4. Spooky Hand Towels. So fun.

5. Chevron Party Bags. Fill with candy and tie with black ribbon for a fun party favor!

6. Tiny Taster Spoons. All food should be easy to eat, but these little spoons make little appetizers of soup or smaller portions of dessert possible and festive!

7. Halloween Invite. Festive invite? Done.

8. Diptyque Candle. Love the color!

9. Happy Halloween Banner. So cute!!

Maybe it’s the mystery of it all. Maybe it’s the fact that it’s in the Fall, or maybe I just love a good spook. Whatever it is, I need it to last all year. Happy Halloween!!
