My sweet baby girl is 5 months old.  FIVE.  She changes so much everyday, but she still also kinda stays our same sweet Eleanor.  She now rolls all over the place, scoots, can mostly sit on her own, and eats rice cereal with a spoon!  We are also in the throes of teething.  She goes down a little less easily than her 2-4 month self, but she still sleeps a lot, just wakes up every hour. 😂.  Yesterday, we went to the zoo and she got to meet the new baby polar bear, Nora!  We got her a little memento and I could cry…she loves it.  Best $5 I ever spent (which I realize makes me my mother, officially.)  We love you, Eleanor!

Have a great weekend!

Erin

Essentials for 3-6 months!

3-6 months, baby, bath, essentials, favorites, feeding, happy, Life, music, need, newborn, play, teething, toys

Hi, friends!! So, we are almost hitting the five month mark and I got to thinking about the last list of essentials that I posted and the list of items we use everyday has COMPLETELY changed.  Baby girl is growing so much and while there are a few staples that we continue to use, she has outgrown some of those items and then we have also added lots to her daily routine, so I figured it was time for a new list of essentials!

Bathtime

  1. While we still use the 4moms bathtub, E is rapidly outgrowing it.  As soon as she can really sit up on her own (she’s close!)  we will probably move to a laundry basket just to keep her steady and keep her toys close!
  2. Speaking of toys.  All of a sudden, she loves them.  She went from zero interest to give me ALL of the toys overnight.  At bathtime when I was growing up, I think my parents just kept them all in a plastic bin under the sink.  Boon has invented this sweet frog bathscoop that attaches to the wall and acts as a scoop for your toys.  When you reattach it to the wall, the toys can drip dry until the next bath–no more moldy toys!  What will they think of next?!

Diapering

  1. Not much has changed in this department, other than the fact that I am still OBSESSED with this Healing Balm.  Put in on everything.

Play

  1. Eleanor loves Sophie and loves the Peekaboo Sophie book.  She also has the little Sophie Teething Ring.  Oops.  Maybe Mama loves Sophie.
  2. Anything that makes noise is also a favorite around here, including this Baby Einstein Piano.
  3. Giraffe Wubbanub.  E hasn’t quite decided if she likes the actual pacifier part, but she loves chewing on the sides of the pacifier and it’s easy for her to bring to her mouth.  I especially love this for when we are in the car.  It is impossible (and not safe) to put her pacifier back in while I am driving.  This allows her to pacify herself when I cannot help her.
  4. E now sits in the main part of her stroller and loves it!  Now with the great weather, we use it almost everyday!

Sleep

  1. E outgrew the last swaddles that we had, so I grabbed The Halo Sleepsack and we LOVE it.  It keeps her so warm without the risk of all the blankets because she is definitely moving around more.  Speaking of which, we have a roller!  She loves doing it at all times now, so we now have to do arms out.  This swaddle is easy adaptable for all stages and I don’t have to worry!
  2. Seems sweet E is teething on top of the new rolling gig.  So, after bottles and before bed, we’ve been giving her Teething Tablets.  They really do work.  For me, unless she truly needs it, I try to avoid Tylenol.  These tablets have worked pretty well.
  3. About a month ago, we busted out the Ergo.  It is perfect for on the go naps.  Matt was super excited for her to be big enough to get in it (we didn’t know there was an infant insert) because it meant he could carry her around when we run errands because he refused to use my adorable Solly wrap (which I love).

Eating

  1. E still has all of her bottles and is eating like a beast, but showed all the signs that she was ready for solids and we got the go ahead to try some rice cereal.  Well, she devoured it.  We have made it a part of her nightly routine; a little rice cereal before bath.  We love this bowl and spoon combo.  Playing with them afterward is her favorite part.  She’s almost at the point of feeding herself.  It’s unreal guys.
  2. We started by feeding her in the bumbo with tray and now we have also tried her highchair.  Both work great!  The highchair is really great for me to put her in when I get home from work so that I can wash bottles and unpack from the day with her nearby. We’ve started a really fun game where I put toys on her tray and she throws every. single. one of them off and laughs when I pick them up.  Super fun.
  3. Bibs.  I kept thinking, when do I need these things??  Well, now, now is when we need them, rice cereal gets everywhere.  These are really soft and not as scratchy as other options!

What are some items that your little one loved at this age?  Anything I should prepare for the next stage?
Hope you are all having a great week!

Why, hello friends!!  Happy Friday!!  Things are busy busy around here.  This week baby girl and I were alone for a few days while papa was on a business trip.  Let me just tell you, E and I had the best time.  I was prepared for chaos, but she was so calm and happy.  BUT I am still so tired and ready for the weekend!  Matt does a lot around here and we sure miss him!

Recently, we also took a trip for E to meet her Great Grandma White, gone hiking, Eleanor has busted out of all of her clothes, had a fourth month well visit, cried with another new momma in the bathroom because we missed our babies, started rice cereal, taken lots of naps, and eaten more than our fair share of pizza.

…and we have a winner of the Meijer Spring Beauty Event + Giveaway!…Nataly C.!  Be on the lookout for an email from us later today!!  Thank you to all who entered!

Hope you all have an excellent weekend!

4 months?!  Can you believe it??  This sweet girl is growing too fast.  She is into everything now and she took her first couple of bites of rice cereal after the pediatrician gave the go ahead to try.     She swallowed it pretty quickly…just a few grimaces!  It made this whole getting bigger thing seem so real, so I am not quite sure how steadily we will continue with the rice cereal, but I was too excited/anxious to see if she would take it–and she did!  She is now 14 pounds 11 ounces and 24.25 inches!  She definitely makes a grab for anything she can get her hands on, my hair is her favorite.   Stranger danger is REAL right now so watch out if you go in for some baby cuddles.  She will let you know her displeasure at being away from mama.  A bath or looking in the mirror are quick ways to calm her down.  Baby girl also sleeps about 10 hours a night!  Naps are little tricky, but she eventually takes around 3 1-2 hour naps!

All in all, she is just perfect.  Our little babe is quite loved.
Happy four months, E!

Hope you all have a great day!  Stay tuned for an exciting giveaway happening tomorrow!

Well, I am going to keep this one short and sweet today because we have arrived in Memphis!  I have been on spring break this past week so we’ve been soaking in all the extra snuggles. There was also a very much impromptu Easter bunny visit that included my almost knocking over a display at Sam’s. And an eye rolling husband.  I couldn’t help it…instincts just kinda took over and everyone will thank me one day!

And before we head out on the town, I am excited to announce the winner of the Free Babes Handmade giveaway is Megan W.!  Be on the lookout for an email from us later today!  And I’d you didn’t win, they have generously offered 15% off your order until Sunday with the code paris15!

Happy Easter to all!  Enjoy your families and hopefully a little bit of sunshine for those Easter egg hunts!
