Darling

It’s that time again! Time to round up my new finds, current musings, and my every day thoughts from the week! It’s almost the weekend, so let’s toast to a grand week and an even grander weekend.

1. What better way to toast than with a fabulous margarita recipe! This blackberry margarita sounds pretty dang fantastic.

P.S.- I hope you all had a fabulous Cinco de Mayo. Shall we continue the celebrations this weekend? Let’s do it! Cheers!

2. Need help setting a table? Waiting on Martha is your gal! This handy (and crazy beautiful) guide can help anyone conquer  the always-challenging table setting. Now I need to get my hands on that dinnerware of hers… swoon!!

3. New Kate Spade arrivals? Enough said. Take me to Rio, please!

4. A fashion illustrator that illustrates with petals– the most unique, inspiring, and beautiful work I’ve seen all week! I can’t stop looking at her Instagram feed!

5. Speaking of fashion and unique, meet Mayhem, the most talented 4-year-old fashionista around. Mayhem and her mom make red-carpet worthy dresses out of your everyday craft materials, and the results are to-die-for. She even got tapped by Vogue! Be sure to browse her A-mazing instagram account.

6. The May Matchbook Magazine is now live! Always a treat to go through, this issue is especially divine since it’s the wedding issue!

7. Speaking of weddings… 1 MONTH TO GO before Tad and I tie the knot! Holy goodness how did it come up so fast?! I better get to ordering those ceremony programs!

8. Can we please talk about the fact that the Royal Princes of Cuteness were in Memphis this past weekend?? And I WASN’T. Sad day. Prince William and Harry, come back for a visit? Please? And bring Kate and the babes? K thanks.

9. We’ve got big things happening in the White-Dunlap households these next two weeks! My brother graduates from the University of Arkansas this weekend, Tad graduates with his MBA next Friday night, and I’ll graduate from medical school next Saturday morning! Holy diplomas! Can’t believe it’s all happening so soon!

10. I’ll leave you with this- The cutest 3-year old dancing to ‘Happy’. This mother-daughter duo is just the sweetest! I hope this brightens your day!

Happy Thursday!

Natalie

1. Evelyn Henson released new city prints and you can bet your bottom dollar I snagged the Kansas City and Memphis prints! I can’t wait to add them to our gallery wall!

2. I am crazy obsessed with New Girl. I realize I’m a little late to this party (a little late being 3 years late) but it is TOO GOOD. I am two episodes away from finishing season 2. And you know what I’m going to do when I’m done? Re-watch every.single.episode.

3. You guys. Tad and I got a house. Like actually signed the contract on our first home. Our first home in MEMPHIS! It’s getting real y’all.

4. Our new house has a ginormous backyard (ya welcome, Wilson) so we’re thinking of all sorts of ideas for outdoor landscaping. Any ideas you’d like to pass on to a landscaper newbie? The backyard will include a fire pit. Fo sho.

5. Speaking of Memphis, we’ve got quite the to-do list started for the week and a half of freedom we have in Memphis between the honeymoon and residency starting! The Memphis Zoo and Beale St. are obvi on the list but what are some other things? Any Memphis lovers out there want to share the secret goods of the city?

6. We officially have TWO months until the wedding. Okay two months minus 3 days until the wedding. HOLY MOLY. I need to A) stop eating B) start training for that marathon I’ve been putting off for 27 years and C) order the dang ceremony programs.

7. Buzzfeed is amazing and this list of 90s kids things is right on par. Buzzfeed, you killed it. I’m totes a 90s kid.

8. So apparently Kristen Bell is the voice of Elsa and can sing like whoa?! This video made my day. Kristen, let’s be best friends. I’ll build a snowman with you!!

9. Since we only have a few free weekends left in Kansas City we’re going to play up the tourist card! We’ve got so many things on our KC bucket list that we must complete before the big move to Memphis. This weekend, we’re visiting the aquarium and WWI museum! I hear both are must-see attractions!

10. Next time I’m on a flight, the cast of (insert broadway Disney show) better be on it. See the awesomeness of The Lion King cast here.

high bun

Happy Thursday!

today be awesome

Things I’ve learned this week…

1) Sleeping in every morning is so dang awesome. Sleeping in because you don’t have to work for two weeks is divine.

2) Raking leaves is NOT so awesome. Seriously. It sucks.

3) Raking an entire yard to make it look nicer only to realize grass doesn’t grow in said yard makes the multiple hours spent raking seem really really dumb. Now I have a leave-less yard full of mud. And 10 bags of leaves I don’t know what to do with.

4) Anybody know of a leaf-bag picker upper in KC? I could use one right now.

5) Bassett hounds like to play the clown car trick too! This video made me smile real big.

6) Talking dogs make the world a happy place. This video can make even the grumpiest person smile.

7) I have the most ill-behaved/ well mannered dog alive. He brought me my shoe to play with yesterday. Laid it at my feet and waited for me to play fetch with it. Kinda cute. Kinda not.

8) The anxiety this whole match thing provokes can take down countries. I mean surrrrriously. I found out Monday that I matched into a residency and they make me wait till Friday to find out where?! Cruel!

9) I discovered Trader Joe’s has the best dang flowers around. I snagged some gorgeous pink and white ranunculus last weekend and they are STILL alive.

*Side note- I killed a succulent within a week and those things are supposed to be fool-proof. They are apparently not Natalie-proof.

10) I’ve got some wicked anxiety/excitement/nervousness over tomorrow’s news! The next 4 years of our lives depends on one email tomorrow at noon! Good lord why do they do this to us?!

Hey guys, let’s be awesome today, shall we?

Happy Thursday!

Natalie

*P.S.- HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SPRING!! We brought back our Spring header to mark the occasion!!
