Good morning, friends!  Hope you all had a wonderful long weekend!  We spent the weekend celebrating our sweet pea and her special day at church!  Here are some snaps from the day!  We attended mass and then had a private ceremony shortly after.  She was an absolute angel at church!  I was super pumped that the baptism would be slightly before her normal nap time, but church and all the snuggles wore her out JUST in time for the ceremony.  Let’s just say the bonnet put her over the edge.  So she is screaming in almost every single picture of the baptism so we waited until after her 2.5 hour nap to take some more pictures!  The whole day was so beautiful and we are so so thankful for all the family that drove many miles to be here for her special day!

We love you so much, E!

Bear with me on this post, friends, it has been an exciting month!  We love summer!

IMG_9282
Makeshift pools and cute suits are almost a daily staple around here!

IMG_9336
Lunch with eight of her friends that are under the age of four and nine adults.  It was a sight.

IMG_9380
A crop top on a baby.  Who would have thought it would be so cute!?!

IMG_9403
E visited her friend Nora at the zoo!

IMG_9445
As much as I love my mornings with my eighth graders, this is my happy place.

IMG_9570
Stopped by Columbus Commons for some Jeni’s!  The food truck court is open 11-2 every Thursday until October!

IMG_9583
I mean…

IMG_9626
Celebrated papa!  We sure love him!

IMG_9666
Started reading The Nightingale.  SO GOOD!

IMG_9804
I love having E be big enough to sit up front now.  REALLY frees up a lot of space in the cart.  Plus, now I have a people watching buddy!

IMG_9838
Y’all.  If you are local, you MUST try Pistacia Vera.  Must.

IMG_9849
I look a hot mess because I just generally am and when a stranger takes your photo you only get one shot.  But, I had to share.  It’s baby girl’s first baseball game and we take our baseball games very seriously!  And by seriously I mean we mostly just love to eat and drink outdoors.

IMG_9889
Oh, the high chair.  What was once a fun place to be because she could sit up, has now become a cage.  Feed me, then get me outta here!  We have also started trying sippy cups and E loves them!

IMG_9917
We have a fairly graceful crawler!  She gets where she needs to be!

IMG_9943
While we were out running errands, E fell asleep in her Solly wrap which has become rare because she just wants to watch everything.  It warmed my mama heart!

IMG_9979
Yesterday, Eleanor had her six month well visit and she did so great!  She is about 20 pounds which puts her in the 94th percentile, 55th for height.  We love our pediatrician if anyone local ever needs a great one!

The last month has gone by so quickly!  I feel so very thankful for my summer with Eleanor.

And now…the moment you’ve all been waiting for…the winner of the Freshly Picked Giveaway is…ANNA P.!  Congrats!!  Be on the lookout for an email from me later today!  Thank you to all who entered!!

I hope you all have a great day!
Erin

SIX months, you guys!!  SIX.  I go between feeling like it was just yesterday that I was sitting anxiously awaiting the fancy test results from the OB to tell me I was going to be a mama and feeling like she has pretty much been here my whole life.  I honestly cannot picture life without her in it, but time is moving way too fast!  She’s basically a toddler now.  I walked in the other day when she was supposed to be napping and she was sitting up playing.  What?  THEN, I walked in this weekend while she was napping and she was STANDING.  She bathes in a bucket now because her old tub is now a small joke.  Literally.  My guess is she weighs about 20 pounds and she wears around 9-12 month clothes, which is ridiculous.  I am hesitant to pack anything away in the 6-9 month range because I have a feeling that once she starts crawling which is any day now, she may thin out a bit.  She has tried carrots, corn, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, and green peas.  We stopped the rice cereal and switched to oatmeal because I think it was irritating her a bit.  She has slept better through the night since.  She sleeps from about 7-4 am and then eats and goes back to bed till about 6 or 7.  She takes a 2 hour nap in the morning and then a 2 hour nap in the afternoon.  We were trying to be more thoughtful about her awake time and putting her down no more than two hours after she awakes, but it turns out it was probably more the rice cereal than over tiredness.  We have to fight her less with just the two naps, so for now that’s what we are doing.  She literally changes every single day which keeps us on our toes!

In case you would like to look at how far we have come:  here are the previous months!

SO now for the fun part!  Freshly Picked has offered to give one of you lucky ducks a pair of their highly acclaimed soft sole moccasins!  YOU GUYS.  These are the BEST shoes out there.  I have bought so many shoes and socks in the last year in the hopes that she would don them with style and grace.  But then I actually had the baby and tried to put them on her.  Off in seconds.  Seconds.  Plus they mostly just fall off when she wiggles in her car seat.  These moccasins stay on no matter what comes at them.  They can be a little tricky to put on until you get the hang of it, but what that means is that they are next to impossible for baby to pull off.  There is an elastic band that keeps them secure on their feet which is just amazing (hidden inside the soft leather so it does not irritate baby).  They are also real leather which, here comes the best part, once they start walking and crawling, their footprint becomes a part of the sole.  Swoon.  So, I got them in a size 2 for now and then I purchased the size 3 for when she starts walking.  I can’t wait to show her her little footprint someday on these sweet shoes.

Requirements for entry:  Winner cannot have won another Freshly Picked giveaway in the last 60 days, must be following Freshly Picked on Instagram (if you do not have Instagram, you may follow them on Facebook, just enter in the rafflecopter that you are following and put your Facebook name and then let me know in the comments), and  must be 18 years or older!  You may enter internationally, but you will have to pay to ship them outside of the U.S.

Essentials for 3-6 months!

3-6 months, baby, bath, essentials, favorites, feeding, happy, Life, music, need, newborn, play, teething, toys

Hi, friends!! So, we are almost hitting the five month mark and I got to thinking about the last list of essentials that I posted and the list of items we use everyday has COMPLETELY changed.  Baby girl is growing so much and while there are a few staples that we continue to use, she has outgrown some of those items and then we have also added lots to her daily routine, so I figured it was time for a new list of essentials!

Bathtime

  1. While we still use the 4moms bathtub, E is rapidly outgrowing it.  As soon as she can really sit up on her own (she’s close!)  we will probably move to a laundry basket just to keep her steady and keep her toys close!
  2. Speaking of toys.  All of a sudden, she loves them.  She went from zero interest to give me ALL of the toys overnight.  At bathtime when I was growing up, I think my parents just kept them all in a plastic bin under the sink.  Boon has invented this sweet frog bathscoop that attaches to the wall and acts as a scoop for your toys.  When you reattach it to the wall, the toys can drip dry until the next bath–no more moldy toys!  What will they think of next?!

Diapering

  1. Not much has changed in this department, other than the fact that I am still OBSESSED with this Healing Balm.  Put in on everything.

Play

  1. Eleanor loves Sophie and loves the Peekaboo Sophie book.  She also has the little Sophie Teething Ring.  Oops.  Maybe Mama loves Sophie.
  2. Anything that makes noise is also a favorite around here, including this Baby Einstein Piano.
  3. Giraffe Wubbanub.  E hasn’t quite decided if she likes the actual pacifier part, but she loves chewing on the sides of the pacifier and it’s easy for her to bring to her mouth.  I especially love this for when we are in the car.  It is impossible (and not safe) to put her pacifier back in while I am driving.  This allows her to pacify herself when I cannot help her.
  4. E now sits in the main part of her stroller and loves it!  Now with the great weather, we use it almost everyday!

Sleep

  1. E outgrew the last swaddles that we had, so I grabbed The Halo Sleepsack and we LOVE it.  It keeps her so warm without the risk of all the blankets because she is definitely moving around more.  Speaking of which, we have a roller!  She loves doing it at all times now, so we now have to do arms out.  This swaddle is easy adaptable for all stages and I don’t have to worry!
  2. Seems sweet E is teething on top of the new rolling gig.  So, after bottles and before bed, we’ve been giving her Teething Tablets.  They really do work.  For me, unless she truly needs it, I try to avoid Tylenol.  These tablets have worked pretty well.
  3. About a month ago, we busted out the Ergo.  It is perfect for on the go naps.  Matt was super excited for her to be big enough to get in it (we didn’t know there was an infant insert) because it meant he could carry her around when we run errands because he refused to use my adorable Solly wrap (which I love).

Eating

  1. E still has all of her bottles and is eating like a beast, but showed all the signs that she was ready for solids and we got the go ahead to try some rice cereal.  Well, she devoured it.  We have made it a part of her nightly routine; a little rice cereal before bath.  We love this bowl and spoon combo.  Playing with them afterward is her favorite part.  She’s almost at the point of feeding herself.  It’s unreal guys.
  2. We started by feeding her in the bumbo with tray and now we have also tried her highchair.  Both work great!  The highchair is really great for me to put her in when I get home from work so that I can wash bottles and unpack from the day with her nearby. We’ve started a really fun game where I put toys on her tray and she throws every. single. one of them off and laughs when I pick them up.  Super fun.
  3. Bibs.  I kept thinking, when do I need these things??  Well, now, now is when we need them, rice cereal gets everywhere.  These are really soft and not as scratchy as other options!

What are some items that your little one loved at this age?  Anything I should prepare for the next stage?
Hope you are all having a great week!

Erin

Happy (late) one month, sweet angel!  SO this is two weeks late, and we forgot to get the monthly sticker things, AND obviously she hates this chair.  BUT, this photo montage does not accurately portray this little girl’s spirit for life.  She is the HAPPIEST baby!  Sure she gets fussy from time to time, but overall, she is happy happy happy.  She smiles now, loves bathtime, loves the Baby Einstein radio station, loves when daddy walks her around the house to look at things, and loves to eat and sleep!

We love you, Eleanor!

Hope you are all having an excellent weekend!
Erin
