Well, hello there!  Two months has FLOWN by!  We thought time went fast with E, but holy cow, life with two goes even faster.  Claire is growing quite rapidly, weighing in at 11 pounds 14 ounces.  She pretty much eats all day long, hating to be set down for even a second.  She hasn’t really figured out the beauty of a good nap.  BUT, she sleeps at night, so that’s a win!  She goes down about 9 p.m. and wakes up to eat between 5 and 6 a.m.  Now that I am back to work, I will get the girls ready then, but it was beautiful a few weeks ago when she would go right back to sleep until about 9 a.m., but then the day of no naps would begin.  So, we are hoping she starts a good nap schedule soon–our sitter is great at getting kids on a schedule.  Pretty much the best actually.
Claire loves to be bounced and if you do dare to sit her down, it better be in the Rock n Play with the vibration on.  She will also tolerate being set down in her warm bath.  She also likes when you make the sushing sound really loud while you bounce her.  She is just entering the smile/coo response stage which is seriously just the best.  Especially when the smile/coo is in response to something Eleanor is doing.  Speaking of Eleanor, phew, she loves this baby something fierce.  The only time Eleanor has ever cried when we do daycare drop off is when we left Claire there for her trial day and E and I left to go to Target (It’s a ritual–but with E I had to do it by myself and it was the WORST.  Glad I had a partner to cry into my chocolate croissant with this time!).

Also, the crying as soon as you set her down is making these little monthly update pictures REALLY difficult.  So I hope you like to see only one semi-happy picture and the rest crying.  Although, E pretty much hated these things too.

And if you’re into comparisons–here is E at two months!

We love you, Claire!

Hope you all had a great week!
Erin

Good afternoon!! Hope your weeks are off to a great start!! Today I am so excited to update you all on E’s progress at Goldfish Swim School!  Lessons have been a little spotty with the arrival of Claire and adjusting to life with two under two, but the second we walk into Goldfish, E’s eyes light up and she picks up right where she left off!  Swim lessons have truly become a way for E and daddy to bond while I hang out behind the glass with Claire.  They practice kicking and pulling to get ready for lessons–so sweet.

Her newest skills:
can kick her feet and pull her arms when asked
can climb out of the pool with a little nudge
go under water without freaking out
swims to instructor and back (HUGE)
not losing her mind when she spots me behind the glass or when I come in and watch her the last five minutes (also huge)

Activities she loves:
going after the balls with the floaty barbell and putting them in the bucket
highfiving on the way into lessons
people watching
getting on the floaty duck and immediately jabbing her fist into the eye
getting in the canoe (THE BEST)

Still working on:
floating on her back

To take a look back at how far she’s come:

{3}

SO little in that first lesson!!  I love seeing how far she’s come, scared and only consoled by a baby doll to giggling and loving her time in the water!  Thank you so much, Goldfish for helping her overcome so many fears!!

Has your little overcome any fears this summer?  Such a special thing to watch them blossom and practice with their new confidence!

To find a location near you, head here!
Have a great day!
Erin

This month I partnered up with Lorena Canals Rugs to finish up E’s Big Girl Room!  We are so excited about the final result!  It is just perfect for our sweet girl!
IMG_7041
One night, about three weeks ago, we asked E if she wanted to sleep in her big girl room and she just went in, crawled into her bed and we haven’t really looked back since.  She has been sleeping a solid 12 hours a night and it is 100% because of her Dockatot.  It cradles her in (and all 47 of her binks) without her feeling trapped I think.  Read more on her sleep transition here!

My sister is just the best.  She knows when I post a gift guide, It is really just a wish list.  This mug and coconut body polish are my new favorite things!
IMG_7415
We went out to dinner at Kona Grill to celebrate being full term!  Head over to see the full post and there’s still time to get a free appetizer here!
IMG_7620
We are loving the warm weather!  I mean, who doesn’t love a good pair of jellies?!
Also:  E’s sunglasses (similar) and shorts
IMG_7873
For mother’s day we headed out to Old Hilliard to check out their new splash pad and grab some dinner!  Be sure to check out the post-there’s still time to get entered to win a gift card to Local Cantina!
E’s outfit: shirt ($3.82!), shorts, shoes, necklace (similar)
IMG_7899
It’s getting warmer and E loves to be outside!  It’s always a huge struggle to get her back inside.  Also, it looks like they restocked E’s swimsuit!  For $10 it is perfect for summer!
IMG_7936
We packed up the hospital bag and are on the official countdown!

Gah, how is she already 17 months??  Time is moving way too fast!!

And just like that, it is time for baby sister to be here!  We are scheduled to meet her next Wednesday if she doesn’t arrive sooner!  So this will probably be my last post until baby arrives!  Be sure to follow along on Instagram for updates!  EEEEKK!!

I hope you all have a great long weekend with your families!!
Happy Friday!
Erin

Clothing
A New Robe
  A Couple of Nightgowns

Loose fitting tees/shirts
Slippers (similar) especially for trips to the bathroom
Flip Flops for shower
Socks (similar) I was freezing so I really liked having these during delivery
Stuff for Hubby

Products
Kiehl’s Creme de Corps
Face Wipes
Dry Shampoo
Hair Ties
Blush and Brush
Eyeliner
Mascara
Lip Treatment
Deodorant
Shampoo/Conditioner
Toothbrush/Toothpaste

For Baby
Onesie they will provide you with everything for baby (including diapers and wipes) in the hospital, but we liked to have a few meaningful things to put on her for pictures and for taking her home!
Swaddle same goes here!
Hairbow

Extras
Journal (similar)/Pen  Matt kept a log of the delivery and it’s pretty much the sweetest thing ever.  So glad we have it–it was really fun to read at her first birthday!
Baby Book to put the footprint/handprint in!
I am going to bring a blanket of Eleanor’s because I just feel like I am going to miss her while I’m at the hospital (especially during delivery) and it will help me to feel like both of my babies are with me.
Snacks.  You can’t have them while you labor, but you can have them as soon as you get to your new room.  I remember looking forward to my snacks while I was laboring.  I packed the big box this time.
Last time we also brought movies–it was Christmas time so we brought lots of our favorites…it helped to have some background noise.
Extra Bags to take home things from the hospital that they give you! And do take it all!

Anything else you all would recommend??

Hope you all have a great day!  Stay tuned tomorrow for another local adventure and giveaway!!

Good morning!!  Well, baby girl is officially full term!! We decided to head out to dinner to celebrate at Kona Grill both that baby girl is healthy, but also that this could be our very last dinner out as a party of three!  Crazy!!

We whooped it up and ordered the calamari appetizer which we got for free for signing up for the Konavore program!  For dinner, I got the pad thai and Matt got the swordfish with brussel sprouts and a handcrafted old fashioned.  Matt was obviously the healthy eater of the evening as Eleanor went with grilled cheese, mac and cheese, and fries (Ok, I ordered it–I just wanted all of it).  These dishes were so good and go beyond the traditional sushi menu which was great for me since I can’t have it for three more weeks!  And they have over 40 different sauces that you can mix and match to create your perfect dish!  Gotta love options!

Kona also seriously has the best dining out ambiance with pretty much every option for experience you could imagine with an outdoor patio, indoor bar, sushi bar, and regular table seating.  PLUS, they have a fish tank that at least kept my little entertained!  They also had tons of stuff (markers, wax sticks, etc..) to keep her busy at the table!  Very much appreciated by all.

To find a location near you and get signed up to receive a free appetizer, just head here!

I hope you all have a GREAT weekend and to all the mamas out there–HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!  You are amazing.

Erin
