Good morning!! In the last two years, I have been pregnant for a total of 70 weeks.  And somehow I have yet to write this post!  So, today I thought I would share a few of my essentials that have gotten me through!

Clothing: The simpler the better.  I have collected most of my items from generous friends who were done with babies so I have been lucky because buying seasonally appropriate items that fit for only 10 months can get ridiculous.  So, my advice is to go simple and buy things that you can mix or match so that you can wear them several times in new ways!  I also try to get things that I would wear after too like a baggier sweater or one that has slits down the side that can grow with you.  I also have the added constraint of thigh high compression hose.  Which by the way, I was reading one of my fave bloggers and she put a link to this video on how to actually put on compression hose.  I almost cried.  I have been putting them on incorrectly/painfully for almost 70 weeks so if you have to wear them, watch this!  So most of my outfits revolve around how to cover them up which is usually not cute especially when it warms up!  But overall, these four things are my staples along with a solid collection of leggings:
Olive Skinny Jeans
Maternity Tees
Long Cardigans
Boots

Sleep: At some point, probably early on, you are going to want to get yourself a a body pillow for between your legs while you sleep.  I know some people that have a lot of pain will invest in something more fancy, but again here I was hoping to get away with something that I could potentially use beyond pregnancy and a simple one from Target has worked out pretty well!

Vitamins:  I went pretty simple here too with just the Target Brand, but I also take these!

Oils and Lotions:  I chose to invest my money here versus the other three categories so far because the majority of my pregnancies have fallen in the cold/dry months so moisture is no joke because you are already itchy as it is.  Plus, compression hose aren’t exactly anti-itch.  I use all of these multiple times a day.
Belly Oil
Kiehl’s Creme de Corps
Refresh Oil
Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment

Food and Drink:  All of the things, but especially tea will be your new best friend.  I drink around 3-4 cups a day.

Other Random Things: Root Coverup has been a lifesaver because I am too tired to do anything in the first and third trimesters and my hair grows ridiculously fast as it is, plus add vitamins.  General fatigue is also why dry shampoo and Face Wipes are also staples around here.  Oh, and gum.  Gum is literally the only thing that keeps me from eating 24/7.

What else would you add?  What am I missing?  I still have ten weeks left and this is about the time my mind turns to complete mush so any ideas to help with that would be much appreciated!!

Have a great day!!
Erin

P.S. Don’t forget to get yourself entered to win a Re-Play Recycled Feeding Set!  Ends tonight!

Good morning, friends!! Long time no see!!  It has been a long few weeks with busy work schedules and a brief stay in the hospital courtesy of a very much accidental run-in with a student.  All is great with baby–and mom and dad are mostly just tired and a little freaked out that baby will be here in exactly one month!

The time has finally arrived for us to celebrate this sweet little nugget so we are jetting off to Matt’s hometown this weekend and then my mom and sister are headed back to Columbus for a week of fun ALL of next week!  To say I am excited would be a serious understatement.

Here are some of my traveling essentials for my final road trip until baby arrives!!

  1. A cute water bottle to stay hydrated.  May mean we have to stop to pee every ten minutes, but it will keep the leg cramps at bay!
  2.  Snacks!  These little morsels of sunflower cinnamon delight are where it’s at!
  3. A cozy blanket scarf.  I scored this little gem at H&M the other weekend and I have basically worn it every single day since.  So so cozy.
  4. A cozy sweater/sweatshirt.  A preggo must.
  5. My trusty hot/cold pack.
  6. NARS Blush.
  7. Fresh Lip Tint in Tulip.
  8. Formula X Nail Color.  This stuff dries SO fast.
  9. Baggu Bags are the bomb.com.
  10. I have posted about these slippers before.  The bottoms are hard, so they are basically like shoes, so that means you can wear them most of the day.

SO, what about you guys, what are you up to this weekend?  What have I missed??

Happy Friday!!
Erin

Last weekend we went to visit our sister Sarah up in Madison, Wisconsin! Such a fun city!!  We rented a pontoon on lake Mendota on Friday.  It was good to be on the water–made it officially feel like summer!  That night we headed to The Old Fashioned where we ate our fair share of cheese curds.  The next morning we got up bright and early to check out the farmer’s market at the Capitol.  If you’ve been to Madison, most likely you’ve been to this market.  It is seriously one of the neatest markets I’ve ever been to.  Spicy cheese bread from Stella’s, bright fruits and veggies, and, of course, a large cookie that the baby insisted on!

After a few rounds at the market, we headed to Winga Park, where the group paddle boarded.  I didn’t feel comfortable trying it for the first time pregnant so I was the official photographer!  We wrapped up the evening and weekend watching the fireworks over the lake at Paisan Restaurant.

Thank you, Sarah, for an amazing weekend!  We can’t wait to come back!  I am now sitting waiting to board my flight to Kansas City for my cousin Katie’s baby shower and some more quality family time!  Off to the next adventure!

Happy Thursday, friends!
Erin
