There is literally nothing my family loves more than a great day at the zoo.  With my sister in town this week, it was one of the first things we decided to jet out and do.  Saturday was the most perfect fall day- 70 degrees, sun shining, and the leaves were every shade of yellow and red.

With the cool, fall days arriving, layers are a must. These cuddl dud pieces have been a life saver for me with the change in weather! Low key, great layers, and perfect for day-to-night transitions. I wore this long-sleeved light shirt with the gray sweater to the zoo (perfect layers!) and cozied up in the flannel pants as soon as we got home.  The shirt is especially great for layering because you can easily slide a sweater over it without it feeling baggy or getting caught under the sweater.  Then, when you shed the sweater, it still feels like a standalone piece. What’s the best way to end a great day at the zoo? Popcorn, Halloween pjs, Hocus Pocus, and snuggles. Add Aunt Nennie into the picture and it’s the perfect fall day.

Hope all of you are out enjoying this fall weather!

I KNOW I KNOW.  It’s super super early to be talking swim gear, but I know lots of families that are getting their kiddos ready for the pool because well it is just the only hope some of us have in these frigid temps.  Plus, it’s on my mind since E started Lessons at Goldfish Swim School!  We purchased this suit and it is seriously the cutest with the little bow on the back!  PLUS, the earlier you look, the better the deals (I’ve bolded the best deals)!

So, here’s to hoping for warmer temps, but until then, you’ll find our little fishy in the warm water at Goldfish!

Have a great weekend, friends!

Winter Skincare with Meijer!

Good morning, friends!  Hope you are having a great week so far!  Today, I wanted to share some of the skincare items that have been a total lifesaver the last few months.  In addition to this skin-cracking weather, this lady has been battling some seriously dry skin due to the sheer amount of bottles that I wash on a daily basis.  My skin has also been totally out of whack since I had the lil’ lady and the extra strain with soap and hot water has not been ideal.

Have you ever tried the CeraVe product line?  I keep the makeup cloths right next to me at all times.  They are perfect for cleaning up spit ups that inevitably end up all the way down my arms!  I also use them at night when I only have about five seconds to complete my nightly routine because I refuse to waste one minute awake while the baby is sleeping!

The healing ointment is also something that I have added to my daily routine.  They come in twin packs so I keep one next to where I feed E and one in my purse.  While I sit and feed, I rub this ointment on my hands, with extra attention to the especially dry spots.

My bodywash and lotion game has also had to be refigured.  I now take two showers a day.  One during morning nap and one as soon as Matt gets home from work.  This was majorly drying out my skin until I introduced moisture-locking soap and then a moisture-rich lotion right after I get out of the shower.  I especially like the Jergens Ultra Healing and the Eucerin Skin Calming lotions!

This girl is definitely looking forward to some warmer temps–last weekend was such a tease! Until then, I am finding it critical to keep a variety of products on hand, literally.  All of these products can be found at Meijer and, as always, for a great deal!

What are you all doing to beat these skin-cracking temps?  Have you tried any of these products?   I would love to hear your tips!

Check back next week to see how I am preparing for Spring!!
Have a great day!
Erin

April Showers

Holy rain, Batman!

It was SUCH a beautiful day in KC yesterday. Sunny skies, 70 degree weather, birds chirping, all things happiness, etc. Literally 2 seconds after I walked outside to my car yesterday it started raining.  I’m talking the second I walked outside. The sun didn’t even break a ray… still stayed on shining, even through rain. That, my friends, is April.

Even though I’ve got crazy, frizzy hair and wet clothes, I’m totally okay with the rain. Rain is glorious. It’s a sure sign of Spring! And it’s most definitely an anti-sign of Winter. Which is, by far, my most favorite part about it.

I’ve rounded up some must-have items for this rainy spring… bring on the wellies and umbrellas!

April Showers

 J.Crew Pearl Drop Earrings

J.Crew Ceramic Travel Coffee Cup

Hunter Original Short Gloss Rain Boots

Benefit Cosmetics- Stay Flawless Primer

Essie Green Nail Polish

Baggu Tote Stripe Sea

Alexia Crawford- ModCloth- Raindrops Keep Falling Umbrella

Happy Tuesday!

Natalie
