Good morning, friends!  Hope you are having a great week so far!  Today, I wanted to share some of the skincare items that have been a total lifesaver the last few months.  In addition to this skin-cracking weather, this lady has been battling some seriously dry skin due to the sheer amount of bottles that I wash on a daily basis.  My skin has also been totally out of whack since I had the lil’ lady and the extra strain with soap and hot water has not been ideal.

Have you ever tried the CeraVe product line?  I keep the makeup cloths right next to me at all times.  They are perfect for cleaning up spit ups that inevitably end up all the way down my arms!  I also use them at night when I only have about five seconds to complete my nightly routine because I refuse to waste one minute awake while the baby is sleeping!

The healing ointment is also something that I have added to my daily routine.  They come in twin packs so I keep one next to where I feed E and one in my purse.  While I sit and feed, I rub this ointment on my hands, with extra attention to the especially dry spots.

My bodywash and lotion game has also had to be refigured.  I now take two showers a day.  One during morning nap and one as soon as Matt gets home from work.  This was majorly drying out my skin until I introduced moisture-locking soap and then a moisture-rich lotion right after I get out of the shower.  I especially like the Jergens Ultra Healing and the Eucerin Skin Calming lotions!

This girl is definitely looking forward to some warmer temps–last weekend was such a tease! Until then, I am finding it critical to keep a variety of products on hand, literally.  All of these products can be found at Meijer and, as always, for a great deal!

What are you all doing to beat these skin-cracking temps?  Have you tried any of these products?   I would love to hear your tips!

Check back next week to see how I am preparing for Spring!!
Have a great day!
Erin

Two Months!

Happy happy Monday, friends!  Yesterday, Eleanor turned two months old and today she is 9 weeks!    She loves sleeping and taking baths (she even plays a little–she kicks her foot out of the tub and daddy playfully pushes it back in; repeat for ten minutes).  She loves to go out to eat with us and we do try to get out of the house when we can–the cabin fever struggle is real!  She hates to be cold and has definitely developed a very cute fake cry which she has figured out gets our attention because it is so darn sweet (and slightly manipulative). I really can’t believe how fast time is moving.  Seems like we just brought her home from the hospital and now I only have one week left of maternity leave with her.  I know it’s time for me to get back, but I am sure going to miss my days with her.  Everyday is a new adventure with her and we cannot wait for all that is ahead!  We love you so much, Eleanor!

Hope you all have a great start to the week!

Life Lately…

Eleanor is getting more and more curious about the world around her.  It is so fun to watch!

Our little Valentine needed a little  spoiling this holiday!  We gave her this bookthese leggingsthis giraffe, and a lovely tee from Jean and June!

I hope hope hope her eyes stay this blue.  Alas, genetics will probably turn them green/brown.  Also:  this was her third Valentine’s day outfit due to a series of lovely blowouts.

You guys.  I printed pictures.  Like, actually, physically printed them.  500 of them.  My mom was the best about taking and printing pictures when we were kids and it is so so fun looking through all of them.  I resolve to be better!

Reading to E is just about my favorite thing to do.  Books with lots of colors and almost no words are her favorite.  We love this book!

Today was E’s two month appointment.  I was absolutely dreading it.  Not only does it mean she is getting big, but it was the SHOTS appointment.  I brought all of her favorite things and I skipped the mascara!

Turns out the appointment was harder for me.  She let out a little cry, but they are fast and before we knew it, it was over.  Now let the extra cuddles commence!

Next week she officially turns two months!  Back to the dreaded yellow chair we go!  She will definitely thank me one day.  I am sure of it.

Have a great weekend, friends!

Here are a few of my favorites from Eleanor’s newborn photo session.  I am so so glad we had these taken.  We did not do a formal maternity session, mostly because we are super super awkward photo people (please ignore my monster feet), but knew we needed to capture our first moments with our sweet little one.  These photos were taken by the super talented Heather Arnita.  She not only helped us feel very comfortable, she also graciously ignored and photographed around our disaster of a house.

We are so very thankful to her for capturing our first formal pictures as a family of three!!

Happy Friday, friends!! I have a quick moment this afternoon because the little one went down for a nap IN HER CRIB!  Baby girl sleeps pretty great at night, but LOVES to be awake/held/in her rocker during the day which means I am sleeping, but productivity during the day is nil.  So let’s get to it: here’s what I am loving this week!

  1. Eleanor’s nursery gotta a little girly update from her Aunt Nennie, who gave her this Oh Joy print from Target.  The whole collection is amazing and it isn’t in any of our Targets!  Auntie to the rescue!
  2. This hat is in the girls’ department, but maybe it will fit me?  I LOVE the color!
  3. Why oh why is this doll sold out?!  I hope it comes back in stock in time for E’s Easter basket!
  4. I have been wanting this vase forever, it’s about time it made it into one of these little roundups!
  5. I treated myself to this bangle and the mom bangle  while out shopping solo the other weekend.  I love having reminders of my sweet girl with me all day–this will be especially important when I return to work in a few weeks!
  6. I need these shoes.
  7. When Matt gets home, he gets his Eleanor and daddy time and mommy heads off to take a shower.  Feels like a trip to the spa with a quick face mask and fancy shower gel!
  8. Speaking of spas…this mama could use a work up.  Hair, nails, and a reminder about how to wear makeup.  Pretty much all I wear is chapstick and when I am feeling fancy, a quick swipe of lip color.  Gotta get back in the groove!

Hope you all have a great weekend!
