image1-2Happy Friday, friends!! It has been awhile since I’ve popped in to share what I am loving so today I thought I’d share a few things I have purchased recently or am seriously eyeing!

  1. You may have seen over on Instagram that Eleanor started swim lessons last weekend at Goldfish Swim School and according to the fabulous instructor, she acted perfectly normal for her first time.  More next week, but we do have another swim lesson coming up tomorrow and I thought maybe an adorable new suit would get us on the right track!  Can’t hurt, right?
  2. Ah, Valentine’s Day.  Really sneaking up here folks.  E and I got started on her Valentine’s last week. Which, can I just say, are really hard to find??  They are all character ones!  I’m assuming that’s all the kiddos want.  MEHHHHHH.  I’ll just have to keep Valentine’s Day character free on my end with This cute mug.
  3. These days I kinda feel like Regina ‘but this is all that fits me right now’ George.  $13 Oversized Sweaters and anything that covers m’ compression hose are staples around here.
  4. I’ve said it about a thousand times and I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned it in every round up, but if you haven’t gotten This lip treatment and this lotion stop what you are doing and get them. Now.
  5. I gotta say…even though the veins and compression hose are a real nuisance, I’m blessed that the majority of my pregnancies have fallen in the fall and winter so that I can wear boots (pretty much the only shoes you can wear with the hose without looking ridiculous).  I have my eye on these cute booties!
  6. How cute is this sweatshirt for E?!  I didn’t think it was possible, but toddler clothes might be even cuter than baby clothes.
  7. Speaking of which, I remember distinctly sitting in the waiting room with Matt at the gender appointment and saying, “well, if it’s a girl, we won’t have to buy anything!” HA.  The second we left that appointment, like literally in the car, I started ordering.  Turns out I might just have a buying little things for cute little people problem.  Whatevs.  I am totally getting these boots to match E’s rain boots.
  8. And she needs her own swaddles.  It’s not like Eleanor is sharing.  Gah, I can already see the fights.
  9. We started decorating E’s big girl room that she will move into sometime in the next 5-6 months…trying to do it sort of gradually and before she really places permanence on the room she is in now…I will do a full post soon!  But, we have picked up a few pieces here and there like this pillowcase!
  10. I CANNOT wait to get an art table and chairs set up!  Just patiently waiting for a sale and then I will be snagging these up!

What all are you loving right now?? Any big plans for the weekend??  Hope it’s a great one!
    Erin

piccollage-3

Welllll hello, friends!  This is a post I have been meaning to write for awhile.  I’ve kind of grouped the 6-9 month and 9-12 month essentials because although there is a big gap in these ages, things got busy around here–Life Lately post coming soon!–so I’ve grouped them.  But I will do my best to kind of breakdown when she loved these things and when she kind of started phasing out of them.

Bathtime

  1.  We ended up switching from the infant tub to a Large storage tub that we got at a baby shower.  We felt silly at first, but honestly, only having to fill that (and she fits perfectly in it) makes bathtime quick and painless.  And it keeps her toys close so we don’t have to worry about her trying to walk or crawl in the tub to go get the toy she wants.  Win-win.
  2. We also got this cute little whale for over the faucet (which she now likes to play with) because I was getting too nervous she would bonk her head on the faucet when she kept trying to stand up!
  3. We still use Tubby Todd shampoo and Babyganics bubble bath.
  4. We’ve used a variety of bath specific toys, but also thrown some of her favorites that are ok getting wet in with her.
  5. We also still use this bath scoop and love it!

Diapering

  1. Other than diapering becoming a workout for us, not much has changed.
  2. We also still use and love this healing balm and diaper cream!

Play

  1. Buckets.  Lots and lots of buckets.  She loves to just take things in and out of them.  We have probably 50 buckets, bins, and other storage containers around the house.  For your sanity, make them cute.
  2. Books.  She LOVES this one because there are arf arfs (dogs) in them.  I love these books because they have all of the things she uses and sees everyday so it feels like we are super parents by reading it to her.  We take those moments when we can get ’em!
  3. Blankets.  Eleanor is obsessed with them.  In addition to Aden + Anais swaddles, Eleanor loves this blanket.  She literally cannot go from one room to the next without ALL of them.  We are gonna need more blankets for the next babe if she’s anything like Eleanor.  I have my eyes on this one!
  4. Babies.  Oh my.  It was her first word and we are honestly not sure at this point if she will learn any others.  First thing she does when she wakes up is say bay bay and look around for one of her seven babies.  We also now have to put them to bed when she goes to bed.  It’s cute.  Promise.
  5. While she doesn’t really use a walker anymore, it was key in the 6-9 month and a little beyond growth.  She started to stand and teeter around 8 months, but with the help of a walker and her determination, she was walking by 9 months.
  6. Recently, Eleanor has been super into our cell phones and really anything she sees us using.  I try to limit when I am on it around her, but at the end of the day, it’s how I take her picture, call people, tell time–really just unavoidable to keep out of her sight.  Plus, there are other people like her sitter who use them too.  It’s just a fact of life.  That being said, she wants it and for whatever reason, I have not seen any that really actually look like the cell phones that we have.  I did find this one that makes similar sounds and it does the trick.  Now she loves putting it in a purse I gave her to play with.  We are in trouble.  Big trouble.
  7. One last thing I thought I would throw on here are her clothes.  While they aren’t toys per se, she does love going and getting things off her clothing rack (and destroying everything else on there in the process) and bringing them to me to put on.  Socks, hair bows, shoes, her tutu, rain boots, sunglasses, etc…By the end of the day she is quite accessorized.  She’s trying really hard to put on her own clothes and it’s kind of the cutest ever.

Sleep

  1. We still use and love our sound machine and nursery heater.
  2. Eleanor only gets her pacifier when she’s sleeping, desperation in the car, or when things are rough (like right now she is getting 3 molars at once and still isn’t feeling well) she can have it a little more often.  We are hoping to phase it out by the time baby #2 arrives!  She is already pretty good about giving it up when we ask, but usually she just puts it away herself when she wakes up!

Eating

  1. We are off the bottles and on to sippy cups.  Eleanor likes these transitional sippy cups because they still have the soft top!  She also like to drink out of a straw…the hard top sippy cups, not so much.
  2. We still also use this Boon Drying Rack.  Still have no idea what people did before it was invented.
  3. We gave her this toothbrush as a replacement for the paci when she was awake and it actually worked pretty well!  And it served as a teether and it cleaned her teeth.  Done.  Now she is using a real toothbrush and is absolutely obsessed with brushing her teeth.
  4. For snacks, she loved these teethers, puffs, yogurt melts, and pouches!  Snacks were definitely something that started adding up so I really watched for sales at Target and Amazon…once you hit that 4 month mark, I would try to stock up if you see sales!!

I think those are pretty much our favorites in a nut shell!  It’s been a wild year and we have learned so much, but still are unsure of so many things.  With baby #2 on the way, we have been looking back and seeing what actually worked and didn’t and trying to assess how we want to attack the next round of parenting, but honestly every single baby is different and that’s what makes the journey so fun, learning and growing with your child.  Hopefully there are some things on this list (and here’s the 0-3 month and 3-6 months essentials) that hopefully you can use to help make the journey a little smoother 🙂

What are your must haves?  Anything you would add to this list??

Hope you all have a great day!
Erin

Good morning!! We are finally at the point where E really enjoys playing in the bath!  Like actually splish splash play, not just fiddle with a toy while she sits in water.  It is so fun to watch, but also a total workout.  Last weekend, I decided to move the bath party to the sink so that I don’t have to constantly bend over and keep her in her little tub inside the bath.  Today, I thought I would share some of our favorites for bathtime that make it just a little easier!

Blocks:  We’ve taken a lot of toys that seem bath appropriate and just tossed them in the bath with her…nothing too fancy!  We do enjoy these blocks though because we can fill ’em up and squirt her!
Boon Storage Frog:  This cute guy allows her toys to drip dry once we get done in the bath!
Duck Hooded Bath Towel:  There really isn’t anything sweeter than a babe wrapped in a duck towel.
Tubby Todd Hair & Body Wash: Smells so amazing and 100% natural so you don’t have to worry about chemicals if they get some in their mouth!

What are your essentials for keeping your sanity at bathtime?  Please share because I have a feeling it will only get crazier for this squirmy babe!

Have a great day!
Erin

baby, desk essentials, essentials, girl, Life, school supplies, Stationery, style, Sugar Paper, summer, Target

Good morning, friends!  It’s been another great week around here.  I am sad to report that I only have one mere week left of summer break.  I am trying to stay positive as I know that this is time with my girl that not a lot of people get, including my hubby.  The little girl in me is REAL excited to bust out a new planner, new supplies, and walk into that classroom with fresh eyes and a fresh heart.  BUT, oh summer, you were swell.  I feel like I am going to miss so much, but her sitter is so awesome and I know she loves going there and that’s just another person that gets to love on her and be a part of her life.  See all the self-talk happening around here?

Anywho, let’s get to it.  I haven’t done a roundup of my favorite things in awhile so here it goes:

  1. Girl’s Striped Dress because a girl can never have too many striped numbers.  Especially for $15
  2. Toy Car Already starting to think about E’s birthday AND Christmas because they are only 4 days apart.  Yikes.
  3. Rabbit Doll  As far as baby stuff goes, I’ve tried to stay neutral in the event we have a boy someday because they use this stuff for like a week.  But she’s getting to an age where she will play with toys for awhile and she will cherish toys like this forever!
  4. Freshly Picked Moccasins The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is happening now if you are a cardholder, opens to everyone else the 22nd.  These moccs will be 41.90 during the sale!  Which is great for shoes that actually stay on!
  5. Eyebrow Primer the condition of my eyebrows is pathetic right now.  They need a little love, so I splurged on this and the…
  6. Volumizing Fiber Gel super easy to apply and I have noticed a huge difference.  Makes me feel a lot more put together.
  7. Sugar Paper Lamp Sugar Paper for Target has put out all of their new desk/school supplies and they are all just perfection.  This lamp is a mere 34.99 which for a sleek lamp, is a steal.
  8. Gold Dots and Stripes Washi Tape I go through gold washi tape the fastest (I use it on all invites and for Christmas) so two rolls for 3.99 is a great price!
  9. Oops Eraser Too cute to pass up.
  10. Rifle Paper Co. Planner Picking out my planner for the year is by far my favorite thing to do.  I can’t wait to break it open and fill it out!  I always wait until the first day of teacher work week, it gives me something to look forward to!

What are you all loving this week??

…and the winner of the Little Standout Giveaway is Nicole B.!  Be on the lookout for an email from me later today!  If you weren’t a winner you can still get 15% off your purchase with code PARIS15!  Thank you to all who entered!

Hope you all have a great weekend!
Erin

Essentials for 3-6 months!

3-6 months, baby, bath, essentials, favorites, feeding, happy, Life, music, need, newborn, play, teething, toys

Hi, friends!! So, we are almost hitting the five month mark and I got to thinking about the last list of essentials that I posted and the list of items we use everyday has COMPLETELY changed.  Baby girl is growing so much and while there are a few staples that we continue to use, she has outgrown some of those items and then we have also added lots to her daily routine, so I figured it was time for a new list of essentials!

Bathtime

  1. While we still use the 4moms bathtub, E is rapidly outgrowing it.  As soon as she can really sit up on her own (she’s close!)  we will probably move to a laundry basket just to keep her steady and keep her toys close!
  2. Speaking of toys.  All of a sudden, she loves them.  She went from zero interest to give me ALL of the toys overnight.  At bathtime when I was growing up, I think my parents just kept them all in a plastic bin under the sink.  Boon has invented this sweet frog bathscoop that attaches to the wall and acts as a scoop for your toys.  When you reattach it to the wall, the toys can drip dry until the next bath–no more moldy toys!  What will they think of next?!

Diapering

  1. Not much has changed in this department, other than the fact that I am still OBSESSED with this Healing Balm.  Put in on everything.

Play

  1. Eleanor loves Sophie and loves the Peekaboo Sophie book.  She also has the little Sophie Teething Ring.  Oops.  Maybe Mama loves Sophie.
  2. Anything that makes noise is also a favorite around here, including this Baby Einstein Piano.
  3. Giraffe Wubbanub.  E hasn’t quite decided if she likes the actual pacifier part, but she loves chewing on the sides of the pacifier and it’s easy for her to bring to her mouth.  I especially love this for when we are in the car.  It is impossible (and not safe) to put her pacifier back in while I am driving.  This allows her to pacify herself when I cannot help her.
  4. E now sits in the main part of her stroller and loves it!  Now with the great weather, we use it almost everyday!

Sleep

  1. E outgrew the last swaddles that we had, so I grabbed The Halo Sleepsack and we LOVE it.  It keeps her so warm without the risk of all the blankets because she is definitely moving around more.  Speaking of which, we have a roller!  She loves doing it at all times now, so we now have to do arms out.  This swaddle is easy adaptable for all stages and I don’t have to worry!
  2. Seems sweet E is teething on top of the new rolling gig.  So, after bottles and before bed, we’ve been giving her Teething Tablets.  They really do work.  For me, unless she truly needs it, I try to avoid Tylenol.  These tablets have worked pretty well.
  3. About a month ago, we busted out the Ergo.  It is perfect for on the go naps.  Matt was super excited for her to be big enough to get in it (we didn’t know there was an infant insert) because it meant he could carry her around when we run errands because he refused to use my adorable Solly wrap (which I love).

Eating

  1. E still has all of her bottles and is eating like a beast, but showed all the signs that she was ready for solids and we got the go ahead to try some rice cereal.  Well, she devoured it.  We have made it a part of her nightly routine; a little rice cereal before bath.  We love this bowl and spoon combo.  Playing with them afterward is her favorite part.  She’s almost at the point of feeding herself.  It’s unreal guys.
  2. We started by feeding her in the bumbo with tray and now we have also tried her highchair.  Both work great!  The highchair is really great for me to put her in when I get home from work so that I can wash bottles and unpack from the day with her nearby. We’ve started a really fun game where I put toys on her tray and she throws every. single. one of them off and laughs when I pick them up.  Super fun.
  3. Bibs.  I kept thinking, when do I need these things??  Well, now, now is when we need them, rice cereal gets everywhere.  These are really soft and not as scratchy as other options!

What are some items that your little one loved at this age?  Anything I should prepare for the next stage?
Hope you are all having a great week!

Erin
