Oh my gosh you guys!  Happy Friday!  This is a post I have been dying to share with you all.  E’s first swim lessons!  When Goldfish Swim School contacted me to set up some lessons for E, I literally could not say yes fast enough.  Anyone we talk to said to get her signed up ASAP, that the teachers and staff there were literally the kindest and most effective swim teachers out there.  Well, let me just tell you.  We put them to the test on her first swim lesson.  She wasn’t too thrilled at the idea of getting in a pool.  Hello, winter baby!  But, y’all, the instructor we had could not have been sweeter about it.  He said it was fairly normal and he even let her have the baby that he uses to demonstrate to parents what to do in order to keep her somewhat calm.

Ok, fast forward one week to swim lesson #2.  I sat behind the glass (no swimsuit for me!!!) and got to watch Matt take E for her swim lesson.  I literally think my heart exploded into a thousand pieces watching them.  Yes, I was that parent.  They had an absolute blast.  No tears at all and she was already gaining so much confidence in the water.

We go again tomorrow and the instructor said we are going to try to go under water this time!!  I will keep you posted on that one 🙂  There’s also a roundup of cute swimwear for your little fishy here!

To see if there is a Goldfish Swim School near you check out their website–you won’t regret getting them started early!

I hope you all have an excellent weekend!
Erin

image1-2Happy Friday, friends!! It has been awhile since I’ve popped in to share what I am loving so today I thought I’d share a few things I have purchased recently or am seriously eyeing!

  1. You may have seen over on Instagram that Eleanor started swim lessons last weekend at Goldfish Swim School and according to the fabulous instructor, she acted perfectly normal for her first time.  More next week, but we do have another swim lesson coming up tomorrow and I thought maybe an adorable new suit would get us on the right track!  Can’t hurt, right?
  2. Ah, Valentine’s Day.  Really sneaking up here folks.  E and I got started on her Valentine’s last week. Which, can I just say, are really hard to find??  They are all character ones!  I’m assuming that’s all the kiddos want.  MEHHHHHH.  I’ll just have to keep Valentine’s Day character free on my end with This cute mug.
  3. These days I kinda feel like Regina ‘but this is all that fits me right now’ George.  $13 Oversized Sweaters and anything that covers m’ compression hose are staples around here.
  4. I’ve said it about a thousand times and I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned it in every round up, but if you haven’t gotten This lip treatment and this lotion stop what you are doing and get them. Now.
  5. I gotta say…even though the veins and compression hose are a real nuisance, I’m blessed that the majority of my pregnancies have fallen in the fall and winter so that I can wear boots (pretty much the only shoes you can wear with the hose without looking ridiculous).  I have my eye on these cute booties!
  6. How cute is this sweatshirt for E?!  I didn’t think it was possible, but toddler clothes might be even cuter than baby clothes.
  7. Speaking of which, I remember distinctly sitting in the waiting room with Matt at the gender appointment and saying, “well, if it’s a girl, we won’t have to buy anything!” HA.  The second we left that appointment, like literally in the car, I started ordering.  Turns out I might just have a buying little things for cute little people problem.  Whatevs.  I am totally getting these boots to match E’s rain boots.
  8. And she needs her own swaddles.  It’s not like Eleanor is sharing.  Gah, I can already see the fights.
  9. We started decorating E’s big girl room that she will move into sometime in the next 5-6 months…trying to do it sort of gradually and before she really places permanence on the room she is in now…I will do a full post soon!  But, we have picked up a few pieces here and there like this pillowcase!
  10. I CANNOT wait to get an art table and chairs set up!  Just patiently waiting for a sale and then I will be snagging these up!

What all are you loving right now?? Any big plans for the weekend??  Hope it’s a great one!
    Erin

We celebrated Eleanor’s first birthday with our family a little bit before her actual birthday to make her day separate from the holidays.  It was such a special day celebrating our special girl!
img_1394
My dad stayed an extra week to watch E and we had the best time.  It snowed so I was able to stay home a bit as well!  Eleanor loved getting out in the snow and trying out the sled grandpa made for her!
img_1418
Teaching her early that gratitude is key.  We love these crayons…she can grip them and actually color a bit!
img_1485
E snuck in a kiss right as I snapped the pic.  Be still my heart.
img_1821
We headed to Kansas City for the holidays (I went a little early with my dad since I get a bit more time off than Matt).  It was so good to catch up with friends and family!img_1766
I am obsessed with this picture.  My mom get E this Mini Boden dress for Christmas and I couldn’t resist getting this matching one for baby sister for next Christmas.  Gah!!
img_1863
While in KC we made a stop at IKEA to get loaded up for E’s big room.  I cannot wait to start putting it together!
img_1864
E kills me in this turtleneck  in this picture.  And the fur vest?  And boots?  At IKEA?!
img_1891
We kept E’s nursery gender neutral (as we didn’t find out the gender) and so it just hasn’t felt like ‘her room’.  We have been gathering all the pieces of what will be her little space for her new room so we can prepare the nursery again for baby sister!

E got this chair and PJ set for Christmas and really hasn’t been out of either since.
img_2011
We found out that Eleanor will be getting a baby SISTER in June!  We are beyond thrilled.
img_2025
I’ve been nesting like crazy.  Sorting ‘baby’ toys from the ‘toddler’ toys.  Dare I say it’s been fun?  We are loving the addition of these blocks to E’s collection.

Pretty much all of December and into January (including my 31st birthday) we all had the sickies.  Just passed it back and forth.  I guess we shall blame all the kisses.  Oh, and Eleanor is getting 3 molars now, and she got one in December.  Safe to say, we are ready for warmer, healthier days.

Girl loves to accessorize and brush her teeth.

These boots have pretty much been on her since she got them from her Aunt Nennie and I really don’t see them leaving her feet anytime soon.  I mean, holy cuteness.

What about you all?!  What the heck have you been up to??

Have a great day!
Erin

img_1425img_1428img_1430img_1437img_1442img_1452img_1458Twelve months has arrived and we are just so proud of our baby girl.  She is the sweetest baby and we are absolutely in awe of her.  Not a whole lot has changed since Eleven Months! except that her obsession with babies has intensified and it has very clearly become her first word.  She loves to put her baby in their high chair and feed them, covers them up with a blankie, gives them a bottle, burps them, and gives them lots of kisses.  She has gotten one more tooth up top, with one more clearly coming in.  She remembers lots of processes now, including putting the binky away after she wakes up.  We just walk over to the shelf where we keep them and she puts it away; it’s kind of the sweetest.  Every day in December we have put something in her stocking and now she knows to go look and she remembers what she got if you ask her to go show someone what Santa brought her.
It has been the happiest year watching this little girl grow into the little person she is today.  Each day felt like a new adventure with ups and downs and navigating a whole new territory.
Here is a look back at each month!

I just also want to say thank to each and every one of you for being a part of this year with us.  It truly takes a village and we have a heck of a tribe that has been on this incredible journey with us.  Thank you for loving Eleanor as much as we do!

Eleven months!  Holy cow!  We are only a month away from baby girl’s first birthday.  But, today we are going to focus on the last month, cause otherwise I’ll just start crying.  She learned so much this month.  She learned where her belly is…she lifts her shirt up, points, and says belllly!  She takes her blanket everywhere which is cute, but goodness, if you forget to take it.  Yikes.  When she gets excited she goes oooooooooo and sucks in her breath.  She’s actually been doing this for awhile, but it’s the cutest ever and I haven’t mentioned it yet.

She has four teeth and at least one more coming in!  Sleep and eating has pretty much stayed the same, but we are thinking it’s time to drop the morning nap and start introducing whole milk?  We are afraid to mess with too much though because we are in a nice groove.  We shall see!

And with all that, it’s party planning time!!!  We decided to distance her party from Christmas because as someone with a winter birthday knows, it stinks when it gets grouped. So that’s happening in 2 weeks! Better get started!

You make every day better, sweet pea!!
