Oh my gosh you guys.  If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen that we’ve picked up Monday night swim lessons.  We loved our Saturday slot, but life gets in the way and we just couldn’t make weekends happen anymore.  BUT.  The best part about Goldfish is that they are literally the nicest about canceling.  Trust me, I know.  Between having a newborn and a wily toddler, taking on a new position at school, and the busyness of fall, I have made more than my fair share of “we aren’t going to make it today” phone calls to Goldfish.  The best part is that all you have to do is call, even one minute before your lesson starts and cancel if you cannot make it.  Once the lesson passes, you get a credit for a makeup.  You can then use that makeup for another class or for family swim time!  And they are seriously so nice and answer on like the second ring.

Since the last lesson, E has picked up quite the vocabulary.  She now says 2-3 word sentences and we are loving all she has to say about the “poo”.  But, I’m also very glad that I am behind the glass while she’s chatting to the instructors about how “dad in poo”.  So awkward, that toddler language.  She loves her time in the pool and we now have a hard time getting her out, which is a far cry from her first lesson (she’s so little!).

I just love how far she has come from 13 months to 22 months at Goldfish.  She freely goes to the instructor, splashes said instructor when it is absolutely not appropriate, refuses to go on her back, plops up on the ledge, readily jumps back in, and just giggles the whole time.
I’d say that’s a pretty solid way to spend a Monday night.  Now, we just need to get sissy started!!

Erin

I cannot believe it has been since Before Claire that I did a life update.  And then we had her and our lives turned upside down!  So, here goes a very long post!
IMG_8699IMG_8776
We were VERY fortunate to have so many family members come and stay right after we had Claire.  It may have seemed like I was conquering all, but there was actually almost always a posse in the background and another set of troops back at the house cooking and cleaning.  Our tribe is amazing.
IMG_8921
We hit up almost every park in Columbus this summer, complete with picnics and trying to climb up every slide.  I was so glad I had this soothe shirt so that I had both hands free to play with E while still snuggling the babe!
IMG_8931
This girl and her fanciness crack me up.
IMG_9035
Getting out of the house was seriously one of the only ways we stayed sane in those first months.  E was entertained and we were able to eat hot food.  Win-win!
IMG_9150
We checked off several summer bucket list items this summer at Columbus Commons!
IMG_9168
Those snuggles make it all worth it I tell you!
IMG_9205
We have created a little laundry ritual that really only happens once every month (thank goodness we have two girls and have a ton of friends with girls–we have no shortage of clothes around here).  We pull their carts out during nap time and fold–then you can just roll it back in when they wake up!
IMG_9314
Eleanor turned 18 months and I shared some of our 12-18 Month Essentials!
IMG_9325
Like I said, getting out was a must, so we ventured out to check out the bunny splash pad in Dublin!
IMG_9413
I wrote a post about Establishing a Nighttime Routine!

If you live in Columbus.  Get a zoo pass.  We did the guest plus so that we could go on a playdate at the zoo!  We would take the mama on the pass with us and the kiddos under two get in free!!  Such a deal.
IMG_9616
This girl loves everything about holiday food.  Fourth of July munchies are no exception.
IMG_0022
Baseball love runs deep in our family.  We had to make it out to a Clippers game!
IMG_0139
I shared this car in my 12-18 Month Essentials post, but it also would have been good to add to The Perfect Baby Shower Gift post because oh my gosh this car has been an obsession from the minute she got it.  She will use it for years.
IMG_0266
Rib and Jazz fest in matching wellies!
IMG_0322
Hilliard Station Splash pad is amazing!!  I wrote a whole post right before I had C here.
IMG_0430
We also made it out on the lake.  Everyone was happy once the lifevests were on and we were moving.  It was really headed south for a minute there.

I partnered up with LÍLLÉbaby to share some tips on life with two under two!

Matt and I were able to sneak in a date night and it was SO very much needed.  When we are feeling pulled in a million directions, making time for us and for our relationship has to be a priority.  For your chance to enter to win a $100 gift card to Jord Watches all you have to do is fill out the form here!
IMG_0956
Claire turned One Month, Two Months, and Three Months and we shared a little bit about how we got her feeling a little better after month two!
IMG_9897
We shared A Goldfish Swim School update and a fun event happening for free here in Columbus!  Be sure to check it out!

AND PHEW!  That’s it for us.  With work, two kids, and a never ending to-do list, life has been a whirlwind, but we wouldn’t trade it for the world!

What have you guys been up to??  I feel like I am missing everything!  Fill me in!
Have a great weekend!
Erin

Good morning!  Although our school has been back to the grind for almost three weeks now, many kiddos are packing off to school for their first day this morning.  Whether you are a student, teacher, or just love a good excuse to purchase new supplies and redecorate, this time of year is full of office and school inspiration.  I love Pinterest so much.  I use it for inspiration for so many things.  Today, I wanted to share a few images that have left me inspired for the new school year!

  1. 10 Inspiring Home Offices via Harper’s Bazaar.  Each image is prettier than the last.

2. Back to School Gift Jar via Oh Happy Day.  Imagine a teacher’s delight at seeing this beauty come across their desk.  Or really anyone for that matter!

3. DIY Folder Organizer via Sugar and Cloth.  Ok, I cheated on this one–I actually spotted this one on my other source for inspiration, Instagram.  Find out how to make this amazing organizer from a $6 dish organizer here.  Talk about magic!

4. Good Advice Wall via My Attic.  It is my goal this year to fill my classroom and my house with inspiring messages.  Sometimes a quick reminder is all you need to stay inspired!

What has you all inspired this year?  For all those headed back to school or those in need of a little back to school inspiration–I will be sending lots of positive vibes your way today!

20150807-062150.jpgHappy Friday!! I kinda, a teensy bit, forgot how happy Fridays make me. For a little bit there, I was becoming blissfully unaware of what day it was.  With school back in full force, I am FULLY aware of what day it is and man am I glad it’s Friday!  Here’s what’s keeping me sane this week!

  1. This shirt describes my week perfectly.  I love what I do, but by the end of the day I feel like I have been hit by a train.

2. How darling are these paperweights?  Give me all the office supplies.

3. This refreshing mist seems like something I should have in my desk.

4. I have so many reasons to celebrate lately, so confetti is a must.

5. Ever since Ashley over at One Fine Day posted about Noble Carriage, I’ve been obsessed.  I have to have This Frog.  Why oh why is it sold out?!

6. Gotta have this sweater.  I might be bias, but I’m pretty sure this kid is already kinda the best.

7. YOU GUYS!  We felt our first kick!  I’m supposed to be writing this stuff down right?!  I think this baby book will do just fine!

Hope you all had a marvelous week and have an even better weekend!
Erin

20150724-091326.jpgGood morning, friends! Happy Friday!! I am soaking up every single last second of this glorious Friday as it is my last day before heading back to work for the new school year. How in the world is it already time to go back?! As I mentioned on Instagram, this time of year is always bittersweet. I love how crisp a new year feels–from new clothes and supplies to the promise of a new start, but it also comes with having to say goodbye to the little reprieve that teachers and students feel with the summer months. When I begin to whine that my freedom is gone, my sweet husband reminds me that teachers are the only people on the planet that enjoy this break. Le sigh. Back to the grind! Here is my little round-up to get me excited for this new year!

1. I don’t know if I am just being lazy or if my hair is doing all new things with my current preggo state, but this summer I have not had to wash my hair–like ever. By day five or six things get a little weird, but that’s what adorable headbands are for…right? And for only $6, I’d say this is a steal and a must have for this fall!

2. Ok, so JCrew is having a mega sale. Right now with code SUMMERSALE, you can get 40% off regular merchandise and sale items and an additional 75% off some clearance. There are a ton of basics that I am eyeing like this top. I was able to find some tanks that are super cute in the clearance section for as little as 3 or 4 dollars! Score!

3. I am almost embarrassed by how little sun I was able to soak up this summer. With the exception of a few glorious days on the boat in Madison, I was mostly inside. Might need to get a little faux tan going with this bronze complexion highlighter.

4. I get a little too giddy when I start thinking about fall. Essie Smokin’ Hot is going to be my fall nail color. Swoon.

5. I absolutely cannot wait to go back to school shopping for this baby one day. They better like it as much as I do…it’s genetic right? I’m just going to go ahead and say yes and buy this sweatshirt.

6. I went ahead and purchased this planner because A. It is currently 20% off and B. I am making so many lists of things to do these days…I simply need a larger planner than the one I am currently using. Quick question I wanted to throw out there to all you mamas: I am a huge fan of stockpiling (kinda, a little, obsessed with couponing) and want to know things you recommend buying before baby. I have heard you should prepare lots of meals for the freezer, load up on your normal hygiene products, but what else?! Any and all thoughts welcome!

7. Like I said, I cannot wait to buy baby school supplies. This book. Come on!

8. I get Staples text offers because I am a couponaholic and when you pair $ off offers with 15 cent deals AND manufacturer coupons, you can score a pretty sweet deal. Imagine my surprise when they texted me an offer for a FREE 12 pack of Poppin Pens. WHAT?! I literally ran there and snagged up one of the only colors I did not already have. So excited to add purple to my hoard!

9. I NEED these shoes for the new school year. Right?

Hope you all have an amazing weekend!!
Erin
